Keith Modugno
Owner
Studio Owner Keith Modugno began recording while in high school during the 1970’s, using a quarter-inch Dokorder four-track reel-to-reel tape recorder and a small TEAC mixer as a means of preserving a fledgling songwriting dream. He then spent much of the late ‘70s into the ‘80s working for Audiotechniques, Inc. in the periphery of the recording business, delivering and installing equipment in just about every major recording and television studio in the New York City Tri-state area and beyond. Those were the glory days of the big-budget studios, and the height of analog recording technology. Keith always dreamed of one day owning his own facility.
That finally became a reality when he was able to purchase and renovate the former RBY Productions Studios in Southbury, Connecticut, in 2015. The space became fully operational once again in 2017 when Keith handed the keys to Engineer, Producer, and Studio Manager Steve DeMott with the words,
“Make it come alive.”
Take a look at this micro doc, which illustrates how Steve did just that.
